TVAA has a special presentation coming up on February 17th, 2010! If there was ever a time to become a Tobacco Valley Artist member, now is the time. Susan Pecora will be attending our February TVAA meeting to present a watercolor demonstration. Some of you enjoyed painting with Susan at her mini-workshop in the fall, She is perhaps better known to you as the "watercolor lady on Channel 57". Susan will be doing a watercolor demo. This is something you will NOT want to miss!

Susan Tilton Pecora was raised in Marblehead, Massachusetts. In this seashore community she grew to appreciate the quality of light and the intrinsic beauty of New England. After furthering her studies in Boston she moved to Western Mass in 1974 and studied painting with Jack Flynn, A.W.S. at Bay Path College. When Mr. Flynn retired, she taught at Bay Path for the next ten years.

She has exhibited and won awards from a variety of national organizations including: the American Artists' Professional League, NYC, NY; Knickerbocker Artists, NY; New England Watercolor Society North American Open Exhibit; The Copley Society Invitational; The Rocky Mountain National Watercolor Exhibit, Colorado; Realism in Art National Exhibition, Parkersburg Art Center, West Virginia and the Hudson Valley Art Association National Juried Exhibit, Hastings on Hudson, NY.
Susan's painting show "Reflections Through Watercolor" has been broadcast on WGBY, the PBS Broadcasting affiliate for Western New England for the past five years. She has painted such diverse subjects as Fenway Park during a Boston Red Sox game, Heublein Tower in Connecticut, Hancock Shaker Village, Emily Dickinson's Home, Norman Rockwell's Studio and Calvin Coolidge's birthplace in Plymouth Notch, Vermont.

I did not get a chance to see Susan when she was previously here, so I will be anxious for the meeting in February.. And also the January meeting. They are always so much fun.
